At Thornbury we try to provide the children with ‘real experiences’ wherever possible to help their understanding e.g. by visiting ‘Cold Harbour Mill’ and working in role as a poor Victorian child. Drama is used extensively to explore historical empathy and we provide the children with opportunities to handle artifacts.

History isn’t just about the past. It’s about why we are who we are – and about what’s next.
